With Sept. 19 fallin' on a Saturday this year, that means International Talk Like A Pirate WEEKEND!

Pirates of the Caribbean Sand Sculpture featuring Davy Jones and the Black Pearl

It all began on June 6, 1995, when founders - John "Ol' Chumbucket" Baur and Mark "Cap'n Slappy" Summers - were playing racquetball at a YMCA in Albany, Oregon.

They spent an infamous hour on court lobbing insults and encouragement at each other in pirate lingo.

When it was endorsed on September 19, 2002, by humorist Dave Barry in a Miami Herald column a full-fledged movement that seems to grow each year was launched.
