visita iglesia

Growing up in the Philippines, we practiced the tradition of Visita Iglesia (or church visit)
during Holy Week. This is a hold over from past Spanish colonial days.

St. Patrick's Cathedral, New York City

Our family would troop to seven churches either on Maundy Thursday or Good Friday,
reciting the 14 Stations of the Cross in each.

At the Via Dolorosa in Jeruslem, different religious sects are assigned to guard and
maintain these ancient sites that are believed to be part of the 14 stations of the cross.

shamrock & saint

Saint Patrick’s Day has come to be associated with everything Irish: anything green and
gold, shamrocks and luck, frolic and drink.

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Most importantly, to those who celebrate its intended meaning, St. Patrick’s Day is a
traditional day for spiritual renewal and offering prayers for missionaries worldwide.

cityscapes & skylines

Can you guess which city these shapes capture?

Have you been to any of these cities? Can you recognize them by their distinctive landmarks?

The Guardian ran a spot the city skyline quiz to test our recognition skills.

Have fun and see how you do!
