Plains Indians | people of the earth & sky

wonder | wander | world was recently reminded of a trip taken eight years ago to the central prairie of Canada. A brand new place for one whole month where we fell in love with the expansive fields of wild grass and the heritage center that was home to an old bison run off.

world wonders

Do we even remember what the original seven wonders of the ancient world are? The list shows us an old world that no longer exists today. Recalling a time when folks were still able to include imaginary places that did not exist.

moving the giants

A guy named David Milarch is cloning giant sequoias and planting the clones to help preserve old growth forests. This is no idle bit of tree planting. It may well be the way to manage the global destruction of vital environmental assets.

Sequoia sempervirens is the planet’s tallest tree

Previous projects have taken Archangel scientists to the tops of California’s redwoods and the depths of old-growth forests in England. They are often called in to clone trees growing near historic homes, including places such as George Washington’s Mount Vernon and Thomas Jefferson’s Monticello.

Archangel’s lead propagator, Jake Milarch, says his staff and a group of scientific advisors have identified a list of approximately 100 iconic trees around the world that should be cloned.

4th of July 2020 | what to celebrate

This year in the USofA our nation lies scattered and fragmented. We lead the world in pandemic infections [2,860,152 confirmed] and deaths [131,797 dead]. We are protesting in the streets for black lives matter, LGBTQ equality, women's rights, defund police, armed brutality, Donald Trump.

This fool on The Hill who is on Mount Rushmore today to celebrate Independence Day festivities with a rally for 7,500 people. With a flyover and the first fireworks display at the monument since 2009, when they were banned for their risk of igniting wildfires and damage to public health.

Way to go Donald. America is no longer a world leader under Trump. It is a failed nation airing its soiled underwear. There will be no happy celebration this Fourth of July.

Our only hope to turn things around is to vote! Vote! VOTE! for someone else.
