summer in NYC

For those stuck in this city's summer heat, there's still a lot going on to entice us.

A regular favorite of ours here at wonder | wander | world is a visit to The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City.

Go see the Age of Empires exhibit, open until July 16th. More than 160 objects of ancient Chinese art, this major international loan exhibition explores the unprecedented role of art in creating a new and lasting Chinese cultural identity.

Don't miss their free exhibition tour on July 28. Show and Tell: Stories in Chinese Painting - lead by Shi-yee Liu, Assistant Research Curator of Chinese Art, Department of Asian Art. Explore the complex art of Chinese pictorial storytelling in gallery 210.

If you have not seen it yet, catch the Irving Penn Centennial, the most comprehensive retrospective to date of the work of the great American photographer Irving Penn, which ends on July 30th.
