On January 10, two days after his 69th birthday, David Bowie left, leaving us bereft in our loss.

The attendant outpouring of grief and eulogies was immediate and unstoppable.

Until the last he was still capable of springing surprises. His latest album, Blackstar, 

launched on his 69th birthday [January 8], and showed that his gift for making dramatic 

statements as well as challenging, disturbing music had not deserted him.

David Robert Jones (8 January 1947 -10 January 2016), known as David Bowie, was an 

English singer, songwriter, musician, record producer, painter, actor and fashionista. 

He was a famous figure in popular music, fashion and entertainment for over five decades - 

considered an icon and innovator by his audience, critics and fellow artists. 

To us here at wonder | wander | world David Bowie is our hero - a man of such talent and wicked charm, stunning screen and stage presence, life equality activist and living legend. 
Our bright star forever more. 

He is survived by his wife of 23 years, Iman, their daughter, Lexi, his stepdaughter, 
Zulekha, and his son from his first marriage, Duncan (formerly known as Zowie, 
then Joe). 

For a man so large in life he had to continually redefine his image for his public, may he be remembered by us all for all the worthy contributions he made and so generously left us with. 

Our lives are truly enriched by this man, all he has achieved and blessed us with.
