poetry | prayer | mantra

Poetry is the perfect companion to any meditation practice. It has a unique and innate ability to slow down time and connect us to the fabric of life.

Looking to add a new dimension to a meditation or reflection practice? You might consider incorporating a poem, prayer or mantra in your next session.

Traditionally, a mantra is a “word, sound, or phrase repeated to aid in your concentration while meditating.”

Mantra repetition is practiced for a state of peace and calm - to relax and ground action and intention. This elimination or absence of the negative can dramatically encourage overall wellbeing.

A mantra can inspire, motivate, center, and focus - an approach tolife from a more level-headed perspective. A mantra is a private practice to apply any way you want - the possibilities are endless.

Live purposefully - health, healing, happiness, self-love, balance in a specific area of your life, writing inspiration - an unfoldment that goes on and on.

Rosh Hashanah 2020

Rosh Hashanah marks the start of the Jewish New Year, as stated in the Bible (Leviticus 23:23-31).

This year, Rosh Hashanah begins at sunset on Friday, September 18 and ends two days later at sunset on Sunday, the 20th.

Rosh Hashanah is also called the birthday of the world. It marks the start of the Jewish New Year and is filled with shared meals and prayer among loved ones.

The celebration also begins the Jewish High Holy Days leading up to Yom Kippur - a time to focus attention on self reflection and repentance.

2020 is a rare and real experience of a transformative journey through a worldwide pandemic. Traditional celebrations have been cancelled or scaled down as a result.

YOGA | East & West

With the Feast of the Epiphany on January 6, the holidays have officially come to a close for those of us who keep to a western calendar.

For those of us who incorporate eastern practices into our lives, we still have the big bang of Chinese New Year to look forward to this January 28.

After all the holiday feasting it was great to get started once again on some yoga here at wonder | wander | world.
