As Mercury stations direct, we may receive deeper insights and see a clearer path forward. A new or higher truth may also be revealed to us, helping to change our thinking or the direction we’ve been traveling in.

Here's to a new month and new beginnings for us all!

Spring Equinox 2023

When the Sun gets to the equator and enters the tropical sign of Aries, the fire of Spirit once again descends on us. The spark of life gets ignited. The Aries quest kindled - Who Am I? What am I?

Wherever you have Aries in your chart is where this spirit awakens in you. It has called to you from your birth, and it gets re-ignited each year on the Spring Equinox.

Time to ground our self in the earth's life and death cycle. We belong and are part of this natural rhythm. Many of our cultural problems come from being cut off from it.

The choices we make for this 2023 will continue to unfold for the next few years. Spring Equinox is the beginning of the new astrological year. This comes in the midst of important collective energetic shifts.

We are seeing another bank failure out in Silicon Valley as we did over 15 years ago. What will be our response now.

How was this allowed to happen again? Have we recovered enough to sustain another bailout? Will it be worth it if we have not learned any lesson from the past?

Chinese New Year 2023

Gateways. Beginnings. Portals.

For the Asian world the Aquarian new moon of January 21 signifies the start of the Year of the Black Water Rabbit for 2023.

It is a super moon - so very close to the Earth we feel its tides moving strongly through us.

What kind of structure do we want to live in - one of limitations? of rigidity? or do we choose chaos?

There is always another way - what Jung called the transcendent function.

What if we let a more organic structure shape what we become instead?

Entrance

Whoever you are: in the evening step out

of your room, where you know everything;

yours is the last house before the far-off:

whoever you are.

With your eyes, which in their weariness

barely free themselves from the worn-out threshold,

you lift very slowly one black tree

and place it against the sky: slender, alone.

And you made the world. And it is huge

and like a word which grows ripe in silence.

And as your will seizes on its meaning,

tenderly your eyes let go. . . .

Metal Rat. The Eastern zodiac uses a 60 years cycle. Each year is governed by an animal and
an element.

our family is so blessed with our fave rat

The Rat is the first out of all 12 animals and belongs to the strongest element – Water. The Rat represents the beginning of a 12 years cycle.

The Rat is also associated with the Earthly Branch (地支—dì zhī) Zi (子) and the midnight

hours. In the terms of yin and yang (阴阳—yīn yáng), the Rat is yang and represents the
beginning of a new day.

In Asian culture, rats were seen as a sign of wealth and surplus. Because of their

This year can mean a new beginning in terms of international relationship and social

order. This zodiac sign is also associated with the “Flower of Love” - the Rat year
will stimulate more scandals in romantic relationships.
