building a sound business

This week wonder | wander | world highlights a new business brand identity - EcoDeo, operating out of New York City. 

Issa Urra ia a holistic healer, trained in a variety of disciplines and practices since the 80s, mainly built on the triad foundation of yoga philosophy, shamanic practice, and Reiki empowerment. Although of course this easily extends and encompasses other healing modalities and wellness therapies. 

A recent addition is sound and music healing through vibration and energy. Opening up a plethora of modalities and applications to pursue. 

The challenge of creating a business brand that encompassed what we believed in and infused our business practice with was a project wonder | wander | women were eager to sink our hooks into.

Packaging and appearance of the EcoDeo brand identity was something to be carefully conceived and executed. We needed a strong presence, especially online. A website and supporting social media would have to be created. Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest, and a blog for starters.

Designing the logo meant much more than coming up with a memorable icon or image to slap on business forms or company giveaways.

We wanted to do this right with a logo that is not just recognizable but also representative of all we are to our customers, vendors, and employees.

We had to choose a visual representation of the brand and an identifying symbol that captured what the business message is, with a logo that incorporates what we do.

We started to build around the business name - EcoDeo. Evolving ecology. Divine experience. Obtainable to all. The concept of a ripple effect, echoing waves, in the wake we make. To infinity and beyond. 

We chose the nautilus for its natural geometry that replicates the Golden Ratio. For its being a creature of the sea and waves. For its element of hearing the ocean when we put it to our ear. For how we can blow on an empty shell like a horn.

Finally we chose the words - reSOUND, reVERB, reSONATE - to capture the repeated patterns of sound. Echoing infinitely in ever expanding ripples throughout the cosmos.
