We are born of water - its salt and brine are in our blood and veins. The tides work their constant ebb and flow on us. The waves wash over us - carrying us to distant shores from our island home through rough or calm oceans of great depths and vast expanse.

Our equatorial seas are warm and salty. clear and overflowing in bounty. Our fisher folk are sturdy, sinewy mortals steeped in the mysteries and myths of the first and oldest drop of water on earth. They traded and travelled the world back since continents were crossed by land bridges.

It is no wonder that we are daughters of the seas - wild and untamed, willful and free. We wander in wonder - exploring what the world has to offer, delighting in our own self discovery. We plumb the currents of countless coasts, we slither sleek and smooth through dreamtime, daydreams, and visions.

It is no wonder our power animal is a mermaid, at least one of them. These sirens of the sea - half-human, half-fish - legendary sea creatures chronicled in maritime cultures, ancient and ageless. 

Although no evidence of aquatic humanoids has been found belief persists that we swam in oceans before we ever found a foothold on land. 

The belief in mermaids may have arisen at the very dawn of our species. Magical female figures first appear in cave paintings in the late Paleolithic (Stone Age) period some 30,000 years ago - when modern humans gained dominion over the land and presumably began to sail the seas.

Atlantis, Lemuria, Mauritia, Thule - these lost lands still have their hold in our veins and lively imagination. Why, then, do they occupy the collective unconscious of nearly all seafaring peoples? 

A question best left to historians, philosophers, and anthropologists? Or one best answered by questers, seekers, and dreamers? Who is to say? We can all dream up whatever we desire.

Mandalas are a beloved symbol originating long before any recorded history. The most admired and discussed symbol of divinity and art is the mandala. Like guru and yoga, it is now part of the English language and our daily life. 

At wonder | wander | world the mandala captured our imagination in our formative years - circles and cycles, center and core, community and collaboration. It has permeated our being and pervaded our lives in countless ways. We have used it as a guiding force and vital compass in decision making, planning, and application.

Our latest project is a mandala coloring book for kids at heart of any age. An exploration of the joys and delights we all hold within us. These mesmerizing patterns were designed to provide a serene sanctuary in which to pursue pathways into our innermost being.

Creating creative space is a delicate balance between inspiration, absorption, immersion, gestation, process, and production. We need to remove and step away for freshness and space to come in. Often when it looks like nothing is going on, so much is happening. 

When we don't take the time out to prepare the ground before planting our seeds, chances are we miss out on watching our garden grow.

Tonight it's raining down stars - still in the peak of the Draconids meteor shower, plus the Pleiades. It's the peak of the Southern Taurids meteor shower. These shooting stars harness powerful energies for manifesting. Make a wish. Meditate. Activate all day. Ascension time it is.

The new moon on October 6 ignites creativity, to birth original ideas and stimulate inspiration and insight. Carve out time for a private creative pastime or personal project. Generate especially imaginative ideas within the two weeks that follow this new moon.

On Sunday, October 10, the 10:10 stellar portal energy is massive. All the clearing work over the past few days prepared us to clear out old energies with karmic cycles in support of closing and healing.

The 10:10 portal is meant to help us in opening new doorways, stepping into a new frequency. These energies are all about new beginnings and new opportunities, more sensitive and intuitive. Maybe even more emotional or physically affected by aches and pains. More sore as our dreams activate and stimulate a little extra.
