defending democracy

Alright folks - it's time to confirm what this whole thing is about. It is not about abortion. It is about women's rights.

It's all about our privacy. It is about our ability to exercise any choice in our life. It is about our right to make our own decisions for ourselves.

in protest of this SCOTUS decision

At the podcast "Now & Then
award-winning historians Heather Cox Richardson and Joanne Freeman use their encyclopedic knowledge of US history to bring the past to life. Together, they react to the overturning of Roe v. Wade

How did we get here? What does the Supreme Court’s decision in Dobbs signal for the future of women’s reproductive rights and broader civil rights in America? What kind of unique perspective do women historians bring to understanding this moment?

Abortion pills by mail are still a reality in all 50 states. There are also alternate routes to access medication abortion pills, even in states that have unjustly restricted access to abortion care.

There are free and confidential resources to help people answer medical questions, assess their legal risk, and manage their miscarriages and abortions. To learn more visit plancpills.org.

BuzzFeed offers some help on how to vote, where to donate, and more ideas from advocates and healthcare providers.

  1. Fund abortions in your community.
  2. Volunteer to provide practical support.
  3. Take to the streets, call lawmakers, and vote.
  4. Educate yourself and share information about at-home abortions with medication.
  5. Urge colleges and universities to provide abortion care on campus.

  6. Urge your bosses to support employees who need abortions.

  7. Rally behind people who are arrested over ending their pregnancies.

  8. Operate a medical office or center? Open your doors to abortion providers.

  9. If you've had an abortion, share your story.
The least we can do is to find some solutions to honor a woman's life choices.
