love in the time of corona

remember that the root word for religion is re-linking
when we speak in the language of longing
we re-enter the mystery

All shaken to the core in the wake of COVID19 aka this 2019–2020 coronavirus pandemic? Unfolding so malevolently. Spreading all too easily. All overwhelmed and in shock?

Faced with taking full stock of our daily reality it is clear how easily we rely on our habitual comforts and conveniences. This crisis has forced us to question all that we believe we were secure in.

People. Principles. Policies. Protection.

Strangers. Loved ones. Family. Community. Society. Government. World leaders.

Reality. Truth. Equality. Justice. Empathy. Compassion.

Uncomfortable and inconvenienced in largely varying degrees we are stunned spectators in an inescapable nightmare. Worldwide events escalate as human behavior devolves - feeding our fears and terrors.

Here we were - fat, dumb and happy - trusting in our cushy comforts and standard behavior. Then all hell breaks lose with this pandemic. Peeling off blinders and blinding us with our naked vulnerability and ill preparedness.

Whoa! Wait! WTF?!? Incredible? Yes!

As we return to basic age old hygiene practices and simple social distancing disciplines we are reminded that as individuals we can make a difference in how we contribute to the overall whole.

A powerful mixed blessing indeed.
